$80 per person for four classes

Educational

Organized by Peer-Rope-Melb

Great news! Peer Rope Melbourne is introducing new Beginner classes on Tuesday nights, making it the perfect opportunity to explore the world of Shibari. This course is designed for beginners and anyone who needs to refresh the basics.

During these classes, we’ll talk about the history of shibari, terminology, the different types of ropes, and which one to choose and how to take care of them. We’ll also focus on creating good communication and setting and maintaining healthy boundaries between the rigger and the rope model to create a safe and fun experience.

The instructor will guide you through essential traditional ties, such as single and double-column ties, leg and arm ties, half-hitch and much more, ensuring you develop a strong foundation in rope bondage. You’ll start to understand tensions and frictions and their importance in creating safe ties. With no prior experience required, this course promises to be an exciting journey into the captivating art of Shibari. Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to expand your skills and connect with like-minded individuals.

The classes are $80 per person, for all four classes, with limited numbers.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions):

Q. What should I wear?
A. We suggest you wear something comfortable, ensuring ease of movement. For anyone wearing a bra, we recommend wearing one without the metal wire (like a sports bra). It could be painful if we practice a chest harness and you are the model.

Q: Do I need to bring my own ropes?
A: No, you don’t need to bring your own ropes if you don’t have any. We have plenty available for everyone participating in the Beginner course.

Q. Do I need a partner for these classes?
A. No, a partner is not required for the Beginner 1 classes, and solo attendees are more than welcome. Remember, even if there are often people to practice with, this could not always be the case. However, most of the ties in this course are easy to practice on yourself.

Q. What if I miss one of the classes?
A. If you know you will miss the first class, we recommend you join the next scheduled course. The first class is where we introduce important concepts such as consent, boundaries and safety.
If you miss one of the other 3 classes, then don’t worry. Our teachers always review the main ties, taught in the previous session, at the beginning of each class, ensuring you stay on track with the material.

Q. I just ended my B1 course, but I don’t feel ready for Beginner 2. What are my options?
A. No worries! Feel free to rejoin Beginner 1 next month or book the next intensive beginner class to keep practising the B1 level.
Also, each class/course is led by one of our exceptional teachers, and each of them features a unique teaching style and may introduce additional ties and styles, providing you with a well-rounded learning experience.

Q. Can I get a refund if I miss a class or the entire course?
A. Unfortunately, tickets are non-refundable however, they can be transferred to another person (not event) for the same event.
Contact Elisa through @intimatehorizons (on Facebook or Instagram) or email us at info.peerropemelbourne@gmail.com to facilitate the transfer.

This is an 18+only event.
