The Chain Sinnet (Chain Stitch) is tied by many of us as children. It turns a piece of string or rope into a pleasing chain. And, when pulled, all of the knots vanish as if by magic. It is found on dress uniforms; it can be used to shorten, and add bulk to, the end of a light pull; and it is also used by climbers as a means of coiling a rope to prevent it getting tangled, e.g., when being washed or stored. But importantly chain braiding is a wonderful knot for storing your Bondage rope in an untangled, easy to use way! Nothing is more frustrating that reaching for rope to begin your tie and its tangled and knotted worse than your Christmas lights! Its not a good practice and can make you appear silly. Badly stored bondage rope is also dangerous. Rope deserves respect.
