Part 2: The rebuttal

After robbing the store, Crystal Bliss, of the magnetite specimen King Pin wants to replicate in order to make batteries out of, Felicia, as she jumps from roof-to-roof, is annoyed with herself for not taking out the girl at the counter by stealth. She thinks:

How the heck was I that negligent? How could my reality be that warped? I was spotted by a damn kid when I should always assume that employees would still be working after close. With my police detection skills, I should be like a shadow when thieving but like a lioness when spotted. I hope she didn’t film me leaving the scene as soon as I left. Oh well, at least I am not in as bad as situation as my love (Spiderman).

After jumping onto a roof that overlooks her residence, the luxurious Chelsea Heights, she sees King Pin waiting in the under construction top of the building guarding his ransom (Spiderman). Felicia closes her eyes and takes a deep breath to try and subdue her rage as she imagines caving King Pins pumpkin shaped face in like an actual pumpkin. After this breath, she descends onto the scene.

She lands in front of King Pin who greets her saying:

King Pin: Welcome back, my servant. Do you have what I asked? *Felicia stares at him in discuss as Fisk waits for a reply* Remember, no mineral specimen, no spider specimen *He then takes out the remote control for the sentry guns from his pocket and re-aims them at Spiderman*. Don’t keep me waiting too long. Felicia then takes the Magnetite out of her hand woven sack (a sack made to avoid traceability if it were lost).

Felicia: I must ask, what do you really want this for? Is it because it reminds you of a double fudge cake? That is the last thing you need.

King Pin: You shouldn’t be so insolent with your lover boy on the brink in a free fire zone.

Felicia: Oh, I think I should be. Catch!

Felicia then drop kicks the 1 pound magnetite raw mineral into Fisk’s face that causes him to lose his grip on the remote as he tends to his face. Felicia picks up the remote and uses the sentry gun behind her to machine gun Fisk to death as she kneels out of the way. She then disables the sentry guns remotely and uses the grappling hooks from her gauntlet to peel the shackled off of Spiderman. Once finished, she hugs the battered Spiderman in a mutual embrace.

In an unexpected twist, Felicia’s eyes widen as she is stunned by what she feels. She pushes Spiderman away and notices that it isn’t actually him but a scarecrow! The chains that shackled him were plastic, the bricks on the wall the chains were attached to are plastic, the so-called Magnetite was a black boomerang chew toy for dogs, and the sentry guns were toy guns! In short, everything is fake! She then runs over to a gunned down Fisk, thinking she has been entrapped by him, but comes to find that he was just a life-sized wooden board hit by foam bullets. Suddenly, she hears hysterical laughter that seemingly came out of nowhere.

She turns around to see that it is Mister Mxyzptlk! The trickster! He is sitting on a dining room chair and laughing at Felicia with a beer bottle in one hand and a cigar in the other. In a reflex of rage, Felicia leaps with claws drawn towards the chair and, in expecting to crush the bothersome imp, crushes the chair while Mister dissolves into butterflies and re-appears on her far side.

Felicia: Want do you want from me?! You meddling garden gnome! Where is Spiderman?

Mister Mxyzptlk: Who said anything about wanting? Your reality is irrelevant to me as I just enjoy tinkering for its own sake. A can make my own Monty Python without any actors. Chance, luck, margins for error, fortune, and so on can all be damned! As for Spiderman, he was never here.

Felicia: Your fun ends here, one bad trick and you will be slashed to bits. Do you follow me?

Mister Mxyzptlk: I think someone is already following you!

Suddenly, a phone begins to ring in a pocket that Felicia never uses. She also does not own a cell phone, so how could this be?

She takes out the phone from her upper thigh pocket and notices that the screensaver is a picture of the girl she encountered earlier posing in the mirror and the caller ID says “Call from Crystal Clarity Pet Foods”. Felicia then realizes that Mxyzptik slipped the girls (named Cassidy or “Cassie” as seen on the screensaver) phone into her pocket and that she was never robbing a crystal store-hence why the rock turned out to be a chew toy!

Felicia looks at the smirking imp in front of her with fury before she reluctantly answers the phone.

Felicia: Ummm are you the person who lost this phone? I found it in the park-

Cassidy: YOU! I recognize that voice. You hand-gagged me before stealing my phone and something else from the store!

Felicia: Look, kid, I was tricked into the wrong location, pet stores are not my usual hotspot at all but, to be fair, I will give you your phone back, but beyond that, no funny business got it? Meet me on the top of your buil-

Cassidy: NO! I will dictate where we meet! You will get your glamorous ass back to this store now with your hands up or I will report your location to the police. You look strong enough to evade arrest, but….Chelsea Heights? They will raid your room and take everything. So, what will it be?

Felicia: Fine, I will return to where we encountered each other, but, as I said, no funny business.

With that, Felicia abruptly hangs up and makes her way back to the store. She feels embarrassment and anger at being coerced by some yoga girl, but she knows that she can’t risk having her ill-gotten fortune confiscated.

Within 20 minutes, she arrives back at the store and, before entering, looks through the store front window and sees Cassidy writing on a blank piece of paper. What could she be up to?
