Exploring the Versatile Spider’s Web in Bondage

What Is a Spider’s Web?

A spider’s web in bondage is an intricately designed arrangement of rope or chain, meticulously fixed to a large frame or the walls of a room. This design mimics the natural web created by spiders, offering both aesthetic appeal and functional utility. The web is tightened securely in its frame, ensuring it remains stable during use.

Benefits of Using a Spider’s Web

One of the key advantages of a spider’s web over traditional bondage equipment, like the St. Andrew’s cross, is its accessibility. Once secured, a submissive is available for interaction from both the front and back, making it easy for the mistress or domme to engage. Moreover, the design allows for proper weight distribution, which can effectively support the individual’s body for extended periods.

Space-Efficient and Easy to Store

Another significant benefit of the spider’s web is its practicality in terms of space. When dismantled, this bondage equipment requires minimal storage, making it an excellent choice for home use. Those interested in crafting their own rope webs can find comprehensive instructions in our resources, allowing for a personalized touch. Whether you are a seasoned practitioner or a curious beginner, the spider’s web can enhance your bondage experience in both creativity and functionality.

Cages

Cages are some of the largest items of bondage and femdom equipment, and provide a ‘space’ of confinement rather than directly controlling the freedom of the limbs.

Unlike enclosed spaces such as cells, sleep sacks or body bags, cages also display the captive, in their vulnerability, making them more arousing for many people, including those who would consider themselves vanilla – for example, cages are often used to contain dancing girls in nightclubs.

Cages for use in bondage scenes are typically constructed of wire mesh, or steel tubing or bars. (Wire cages can be bought cheaply from pet shops, but often do not provide the feeling of inescapably that many captives seek. like below)

Installing pet cage

One of the important uses of cages is to provoke feelings of psychological reactance as the captive struggles against the bars, and then reaches the state of helplessness once convinced of their inescapably.

There are three basic designs of cage

Puppy cage:

  • This is probably the most common cage design seen in clubs and dungeons. Typically, they are about 4 feet long, 2-3 feet wide and about 3 feet tall. The dimensions give the captive little room for movement and force them to kneel or lie curled up. Most commercially available cages can be dismantled for storage.

Upright cage:

  • is designed to confine a person in the standing position, typically they are about 2 feet wide, 1-2 feet in depth and about 7 feet high. Designs usually incorporate multiple doors to allow the prisoner access to the captive’s breasts and genitals without having to release them.

Gibbet cage:

  • A gibbet cage is based on the historical device used for displaying the bodies of executed prisoners. (It should be noted that gibbets were never designed to imprison the living!) The SM community has taken the concept and transformed it into a cage roughly in the shape of a person, designed for extremely restrictive confinement. Gibbet cages look extreme and provide an environment where the captive is almost totally immobile and very helpless. The main disadvantage of this type of cage is that the person being confined needs to be approximately the same size as the cage. Very tall people will just not fit and very short people will risk looking slightly ridiculous. Since movement can be severely restricted, no-one should be left in a gibbet cage for long, as discomfort can quickly and suddenly arise arise, with the potential for physical harm to soon follow.

Bondage Chair

bondage chair

A bondage chair is a large piece of SM equipment found in many dungeons and clubs. Designs differ widely but the principle is usually the same; a strong high backed chair with straps or other fixing points to tie the victim to the chair. Some designs have cut away seats for easier access to genitalia for CBT. The fact that the sub is bound seated makes bondage chairs suitable for long term bondage sessions lasting several hours or more as the body is not stressed in anyway.

Chair bondage can be an exciting way to spice up any relationship! This sexy position allows one partner to restrain the other in a chair and use them for pleasure. It is a great way to explore different sensations during sex and can further enhance intimacy and communication between partners.

Once a submissives securely restrained, additional items like fur, feathers or massage oils can be used to increase pleasure and add to the tactile experience. Using verbal consent to discuss the type of activities you want to do is very important and should be discussed before attempting this position.

To start, choosing restraints that feel comfortable and secure is very important. Many couples opt for velcro straps for easy release when finished or incorporate rope-work if experienced or adventurous. A pillow can also be used to provide extra support and comfort. Not sure how to do ties, check out our resources section further.

By playing with the angles and tightness of the ropes/straps you will be able to find new variations of this position. With practice, it is possible to be creative and improvise techniques which works best for you and your submissive partner
.
Playing with temperature by dripping warm wax or icy water onto your partners skin can further heighten the senses and allow both partners to take control over various elements during the experience.
As the main aim of doing this activity is to have fun, make sure the mood remains light and trusting throughout the experience so both partners can enjoy it together.

A-frame

BDSM A frame. A ladder like shape with a small point at the top

An A-frame is a item of BDSM/Femdom furniture designed to tie a submissive or slave to. It consists of a large triangular frame about 7 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide. The space inside the triangle is usually filled with a lattice work of rope or horizontal steel bars. A-frames are either secured to a wall or mounted on a sturdy base; as with other types of furniture, it is vital that the base be stable enough to prevent toppling even if the captive submissive struggles violently.

In function, an A-frame falls between a whipping post and a St Andrews cross. The captive submissive is usually bound with their hands together, above their head to the apex of the frame. The legs are spread apart and secured to the bottom two corners. For more secure bondage, the captive’s limbs and torso can be tied to the rope lattice or bars in the center of the frame.

Depending on how the captive submissive is bound, the A-frame puts less stress on the person’s body than a St Andrews cross, allowing for longer periods of bondage. The person can be bound either facing the frame (for a flogging) or with their back to the frame (for torture or tease and denial). The feeling of being bound to an A-frame is not as intense as being bound to a cross (for both captor and captive), but the fact that the bound person can be left for longer allows forms of play that would be difficult to do on a St Andrews cross.
